Behaviour

Animal behaviour is everything an animal does; blinking, walking, eating, vocalising, sleeping and defecating just to mention a few examples.

So many of our horses display unwanted behaviours like, bolting, cribbing, aggression or kicking the stable door. Most of the unwanted behaviours mask underlying issues. If we want to work on getting rid of these behaviours, we must first understand what is causing them.

Some of these behaviours can be minimised or even eliminated with simple management changes, others will take time and training.

Typical examples of behaviour issues: Trouble loading, seperation anxiety, tacking up, bolting, wont stand by the mounting block, leading, catching, fear of injections, trouble lifting feet, farrier issues, trouble worming, aggression and wind- sucking.
